Pima County Supervisors' Chairman Ramon Valadez says the board voted unanimously to approve a $163M construction project to upgrade and expand the Ina Road waste-water treatment plant.

Supervisor Valadez says construction is set to begin in a month on the massive plan to upgrade the sewage-treatment plant near Interstate 10, He says the project is needed to meet federal guidelines for the amount of nitrogran and ammonia in the treatment water. When the project is complete, the ina facility will be able to process 50 million gallons of wastewater each day and meet federal standards.
