Cooking Up a Storm This Thanksgiving? Don’t Dump That Grease

Put your waste oils and fats in a container, not the drain.

French Fries Spotlight

When you finish cooking your Thanksgiving meal, don’t pour that grease down the drain.

Officials with the Pima County Wastewater Department say it can cause clogs which could lead to raw sewage backing up into your house.

Instead of pouring grease down the drain, county officials say you should store it in a can or glass container and take it to the annual grease recycling events in January.

If you don’t want to save your grease until then, cool it in a can or glass container and then throw it away.
