Black Friday, local Saturday and cyber Monday mark the beginning of the holiday shopping season. Nonprofits are asking not to be overlooked in the frenzy.

Giving Tuesday is the day Americans are supposed to forget the stores and remember charities.

This year, nearly three dozen Tucson groups have joined to remind Southern Arizonans to give local.

The group is using the website givelocalkeeplocal.org to help people find local charities and non-profits.

Arizona taxpayers may be able to claim both federal and state tax credits depending on the groups they donate to.
