The new law, now in effect, lets more people carry concealed weapons.

The state’s new concealed weapons law allows Arizona residents at least 21 years old or older to carry a concealed weapon without a permit. And it toughens the penalties for committing a crime while carrying one. The law also requires individuals to answer honestly if police ask if they are carrying a weapon. Tucson Chief of Police Roberto Villasenor says the new law makes the job of law enforcement even harder.
