PBS Kids Family Nights

Beginning April 21, families can enjoy movie specials and themed programming weekly on PBS Kids.

Sesame Street Cookie Thief hero “The Cookie Thief,” Cookie Monster’s first special, builds on SESAME STREET’s 45-year history of helping children grow smarter, stronger and kinder. The nail-biting, cookie-munching thriller guest stars Rachel Dratch of Saturday Night Live fame and celebrates the arts.

PBS Kids Family Night will offer weekly family viewing events featuring movie specials or themed programming. These shows will air every Friday from 7 to 9 p.m., repeating on Saturday and Sunday evenings. The full local channel listing is available online.

Odd Squad: The Movie - April 21-23, 2017 In this feature-length ODD SQUAD event, a rival group of adults called Weird Team arrive with a gadget that fixes any odd problem. As a result, the Odd Squad is run out of business and all the agents are forced to disband and go back to their lives as regular kids. Using math skills and teamwork, the kids discover Weird Team isn’t actually solving problems, but just covering them up. The Season 2 cast teams up with the Season 1 cast to stop Weird Team and save the world from destruction.

Wild Kratts: Back in Creature Time - April 28-30, 2017 The Wild Kratts crew laments the extinction of different animals in recent history and how they'll never ever be able to see them. Aviva decides that it's finally time to unveil her most secret invention yet -- the Time Trampoline! Using the trampoline, the Wild Kratts jump back in time to meet the extinct series.

Splash and Bubbles: One Big Ocean - May 5-7, 2017  
The Reeftown kids catch the currents and embark on an epic journey across the sea to help a friendly young turtle. Along the way they learn that all creatures are interconnected and how even a small gesture can greatly affect the friends and neighbors who share the one big ocean they call home.

Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood: Tiger Family Trip NEW - May 12-14, 2017   
In an all-new one-hour special, the Tiger family heads out on a road trip to Grandpere’s! At first, Daniel doesn’t know what to expect on the ride, but with a helpful map from Mom Tiger, Daniel learns that there are so many exciting things to do and see when you’re on a trip with your family.

The Cat in the Hat Knows a Lot About Space! - May 19-21, 2017   
The Cat in the Hat takes us on a cosmic adventure through the solar system to assist with Operation Rover Repair in this one-hour movie event!

Sesame Street: The Cookie Thief - May 26-28, 2017   
This nail-biting, cookie-munching thriller celebrates the arts and delights Cookie Monster fans of all ages. A cookie art museum has just opened on Sesame Street. Surrounded by beautiful cookie paintings, such as "Girl with the Cookie Earring" and the "Muncha Lisa," Cookie Monster and his friends feel as though they're in a whole new world. But when art suddenly starts to disappear, Cookie Monster quickly becomes a suspect. Can he clear his name? Will they find the missing art in time or will Cookie Monster be banished from the museum forever?

Arthur: D.W. and the Beastly Birthday NEW - June 2-4, 2017
In this all-new Arthur movie event, D.W.’s fifth birthday doesn’t go the way she’d always imagined it would and she decides to escape to the magical island of Ukubonga. Meanwhile, Arthur has skipped her birthday party to go on a school trip to the planetarium – but instead of transporting him into outer space, it transports him 4 years in the future!

Nature Cat: Ocean Commotion NEW - June 2017 Nature Cat and his pals go on an aquatic adventure to save Hal’s favorite chew toy. Along the way, they learn that all waterways are interconnected and meet up with a new special friend named Nature Dog who helps them navigate the oceans.

Wild Kratts Alaska: Hero’s Journey (working title) NEW - July 2017 While creature adventuring in Alaska, one of Aviva’s breakthrough inventions falls overboard and attaches to a sockeye salmon--jumpstarting a wild chase upriver through the wilderness. The Wild Kratts track the incredible salmon run--a quest fraught with obstacles and amazing creature connections around every bend.

Ready Jet Go!: Return to Bortron 7 NEW - August 2017 When Jet’s parents need to return to their home planet, Sean and Sydney join the Propulsion family for on an epic adventure to Bortron 7.

Arthur & the Haunted Treehouse NEW - October 2017 This Halloween is sure to be the spookiest ever for Arthur and his friends. While trick-or-treating, Francine meets an elderly woman with a very mysterious past, while Binky finds himself at Mr. Ratburn’s amazing haunted house (that’s scarier than math class!). And as for Arthur, Buster and Ladonna? Their tree house sleepover seems to be haunted...but by what?

Once Upon a Sesame Street Christmas NEW - November 2017 An all-new Sesame Street special goes back in time to show how Elmo’s ancestors – not to mention those of Grover, Big Bird, Bert, Ernie, Oscar the Grouch and Cookie Monster – helped transform “the most unfriendly street in town” into the bright, kind, music-filled place it is today. 

Splash and Bubbles: Pole-to-Pole NEW - December 2017 The Reeftown Rangers set off on a pole-to-pole adventure from the Antarctic to the Arctic, meeting new cold-water friends and learning about migration along the way.

Odd Squad: World Turned Odd NEW - January 2018 When Oona, Olympia, and Otis accidentally change the past, they undo every odd case Odd Squad has ever solved! The agents embark on a mission across time to set things right!
