Even though he died more than a century before the creation of the first personal computer, English mathematician George Boole’s work with symbolic algebra has played an integral role in the design of digital computer circuits to this day. Narrated by Oscar-winning actor Jeremy Irons, the documentary THE GENIUS OF GEORGE BOOLE uses interviews with industry leaders and academic experts to explore the monumental impact of Boole's work on today's technology.

The Genius of George Boole, Tuesday at 9 p.m. on PBS 6.
