Arizona Game and Fish is warning hikers and bikers about another possibly rabid fox at Saguaro National Park East.
The gray fox bit the pant leg of a hiker Wednesday, on a trail near the park's boundary with Coronado National Forest. The person did not need medical treatment because the bite didn't break the skin.
This is second time this year that a suspected rabid fox has been spotted at the park. Arizona has seen 51 confirmed cases of rabies in animals this year, including 34 in the southeast corner of the state.
Officials warn hikers to stay away from animals behaving unusually, and to be sure all pets and livestock are vaccinated against rabies.
