Maintaining mental health has become a hot button issue in the Tucson community in the aftermath of the Jan. 8 shooting. The University of Arizona long ago established a protocol for dealing with incidents that could become serious, but the recent tragedy has spurred many university administrators to consider what work remains be done. Veda Kowalski, assistant director in the dean of students' office at the University of Arizona, explains the process currently underway to make the UA campus a safer place.
