Jason Katterhenry, AZPM technology contributor, says Google is seeking Motorola patents.
Google recently announced that it will spend $12.5 billion to buy Motorola Mobility. Because Motorola makes Android mobile devices, Google will have control over these devices and operating systems that run advertisements using the Google search engine.
"Google is hoping that by buying a whole host of patents, that they can then have some leverage against companies like Apple, who want to sue companies who are making Android phones," says Jason Katterhenry, AZPM technology contributor.
Along with buying Motorola Mobility, Google still plans to launch Google TV, which may eventually bring Android in to homes around the country.
