Lisa’s favorite teacher is Barbara Matteson, her 4th grade teacher at Ft. Lowell Elementary School. Today, Mrs. Matteson continues to support Education by serving as President of the NEA’s Retired Teachers Association.

The Tucson Weekly had this to say about Teacher's Voices, "No matter what the state Legislature thinks about public education, there are many remarkable teachers doing remarkable things within our classrooms. Arizona Public Media's KUAZ FM 89.1/AM 1550 has been documenting many of these success stories through its Teachers Voices series. Host Mark McLemore has put together a treasure trove of stories about educators who offer innovative approaches to facilitating critical thinking, while getting kids more involved and connected to their own potential. These stories are nothing short of a revelation in terms of how much we don't know about what's really good in our schools."
