Fernando Gallego's, St. Bartholomew and St. John the Evangelist
Infrared reflectograph of Fernando Gallego's, St. Bartholomew and St. John the Evangelist, reveals what lies under the surface.

For the first time in the United States, researchers have undertaken an extensive study of a 15th Spanish cathedral altarpiece, and in the process, have unlocked five hundred years of secrets involving art, literature, history and religion.

Arizona Public Media presents a half-hour documentary that follows the journey of the Retablo which survived earthquakes, war, trans-Atlantic voyages, years of storage in a bunker during WW II and restoration to come to the University of Arizona Museum of Art. Produced by Sooyeon Lee Johnston.

Watch it Thursday, November 20th at 8:30 p.m. on PBS-HD.
