Members of Congress are proposing a law to protect Internet content providers targeted by thieves, but their efforts are resulting in new concerns.

Arizona Public Media technology commentator Jason Katterhenry says it's a classic example of unintended consequences for those who are trying to solve a problem.

"The U.S. House is proposing a law that will basically allow the Attorney General to find a site he doesn't like and add it to a list that all U.S. ISPs (Internet service providers) are required to block," Katterhenry says. "The primary problem with this law is that it breaks the fundamental DNA structure of the Internet."
