Broadcasts from The Metropolitan Opera continue at 11:00 a.m. this Saturday, December 31st, with an encore presentation of Die Fledermaus by Johann Strauss. The performance will run approximately two hours and fifty minutes.

Johann Strauss's classic operetta that tells the tale of a silly prank, the victim's revenge and concealed identities comes to life in this historic English-language broadcast, recorded January 20th, 1951. The production stars Richard Tucker and Risë Stevens, and is conducted by Eugene Ormandy. Stage, television and big screen comedic actor Jack Gilford makes a guest appearance as Frosch the jailer.
