Broadcasts from the Metropolitan Opera continue on Classical 90.5 at 11:00 a.m. this Saturday, January 7th, with a performance of Hansel and Gretel by Engelbert Humperdinck, with a libretto by the composer's sister, Adelheid Wette, based on the Grimm brothers' fairy tale "Hansel and Gretel." The production will be sung in English and will run approximately two hours and twenty-five minutes.

Aleksandra Kurzak and Alice Coote play the siblings lost in the woods in Humperdinck's opera, opposite Robert Brubaker as the Witch. Robin Ticciati conducts.
