Biosphere 2 is more than just a museum north of Tucson. It is a working 3-acre lab under glass. Visitors to the Oracle, Arizona attraction right now will see the construction of Landscape Evolution Observatory (LEO), which is the physically largest part of a number of climate change experiments going on at Biosphere 2.

Stephen DeLong, assistant research professor at Biosphere 2, and John Adams, Biosphere 2 assistant director, join Arizona Illustrated to explain the work underway at the famous site. Visitors drawn to the place for its history are often surprised at its current vibrancy, they say, and may have the chance to talk directly with scientists who are conducting experiments.
