Black History Month Special

"Say It Plain" profiles African Americans who have demanded justice and equality on the long struggle for civil rights. Airs Sunday at 3:00 p.m. on KUAZ 89.1FM/1550AM

Martin Luther King, Jr. was the most famous black orator in history. However, he was hardly alone. For generations, African Americans have been demanding justice and equality, reminding America to make good its founding principles of democracy. These orators, and the very act of speaking out, played a crucial role in the long struggle for equal rights. Hear some of those seminal speeches in Say It Plain, which pre-empts Fresh Air Weekend, this weekend only.
