The road to Mt. Lemmon was open at the base Monday only to vehiles with chains or four-wheel drive, the Pima County Department of Transportation reported.
Snow accumulations, the possibility of icy conditions and a forecast for snowfall above 4,000 feet through the morning led to earlier closure. The road was reopened with restrictions at 8:45 a.m.
Pima County officials also advised caution to motorists because of flooded roadways on Wentworth Road at Tanque Verde Creek, Redington Road at the road base and Silverbell Road at Sunset Road.
