Law enforcement set up a perimeter within a few miles of the prison and spent Monday conducting a door-to-door search.

“We look for every indication we possibly can that would lead us in one direction or the other. At this point we’re in this in between state. We can’t say if they are out of the perimeter, we can’t say if they’re in the perimeter,” said Col. Heston Silbert, head of the Arizona Department of Public Safety.

Silbert is asking residents to notify law enforcement if they have not seen a neighbor or coworker in recent days if that is out of the ordinary.

Law enforcement officials said one of the fugitives may have ties to Mexico.

A $35,000 reward is offered for each of the two men.
