The Arizona Model United Nations held its 50th Annual High School Conference for nearly 400 students this month. The conference hosts students from border states in the United States and Mexico.
The club is gaining recognition for their efforts to promote diversity and communication across borders. They recently received the UA’s Inclusive Excellence Award.
This high school conference is unique to the southwest region because it’s bilingual. It offers students from both sides of the border the opportunity to meet and discuss current border issues.
Melanie Huonker has the inside look at the conference and its importance for promoting diversity and relations.
