If you’re planning to travel near Nogales this week, be ready for some slow going.

Arizona Department of Transportation crews will be removing burned trees on State Route 289 near Nogales, from milepost 6.7 to Pena Blanca Lake, from 6 a.m. until 4 p.m. Tuesday through Friday. The trees fell victim to last summer’s Murphy Complex Fire.

Construction crews will direct traffic through the work zone area during the intermittent road closures. Drivers are being warned they could encounter delays of up to 20 minutes. ADOT says the work schedule could change for a variety of reasons, such as weather, materials availability or mechanical difficulties.
