Some artists only dream of drawing on the walls of a museum. At the University of Arizona Museum of Art teams of artists recreate wall drawings by minimalist artist Sol LeWitt by following his simple instructions.
Curator Lauren Rabb accessed LeWitt’s instructions from the artist’s estate, and put a call out to students and community members, who are coming in as teams to work on the walls throughout the summer.
“This is the first time since I’ve been here… where we’ve invited community artists in to work directly on the museum walls and to participate in a major exhibition” says Rabb.
Watch to see how locals are tracing the lines of a world-class artist.
