Pima County is opening up a veterans’ workforce center as part of its One-Stop Career Center.

The Kino Veteran’s Workforce Center will be the first veterans’ employment center in the country, according to county officials.

The center will be a place where veterans can get help finding jobs and get connected with support services, said Art Burrola, the program’s director.

“We want to help veterans navigate the resources that are out there in the community,” he said. “Soon there will be many people coming back to the community after completing their commitment to the military.”

The center is scheduled to open July 16 next door to the Kino Service Center, 2979 E. Ajo Way.
