Due to the reduced risk of wildfire across much of Arizona, the Forestry Division is removing fire restrictions from state-owned lands in all 15 counties south of the Grand Canyon.
State-owned lands north of the Grand Canyon in northern Mohave and Coconino counties will remain in restrictions due to persistent dry conditions. That area is commonly referred to as the Arizona Strip.
Fire restrictions on federal lands also have been eased in the last week.
Restrictions had been in effect for several weeks during which wildfires burned close to 100,000 acres in Arizona, on federal, state and private land.
