The Ballet Folklorico La Paloma dance company was invited to perform in the 2012 London Olympics over three years ago.

After having performed in Sydney, Australia for the previous Summer Olympics, they knew that this was an event they couldn't pass up.

"We had three years to prepare," says Betting Montanez, a Ballet Folklorico La Paloma dancer. "We fundraised for three years and we rehearsed for three years."

To make the performance even better, Montanez and her dancers invited members of Viva Arizona Dance Company to join them for their two London performances.

"It was an amazing experience, I never thought that by joining a dance company that I would be given the opportunity to do something like perform at the Olympics," says Bruno Loya, who has danced with Viva Arizona for 15 years.

The two companies will collaborate again this September, this time in Vegas for a conference where dance companies from as far as Canada will come to learn and showcase different types of dance.
