George Hanson brings his tenure as Music Director and Conductor to a fitting and inspiring close with Gustav Mahler’s Symphony No. 3, which illustrates Mahler’s musical philosophy that, “The symphony must be like the world. It must embrace everything.”

View a special screening of the film “What the Universe Tells Me: Unraveling the Mysteries of Mahler’s Third Symphony” at the Loft Cinema on March 1, and hear the music performed by the Tucson Symphony Orchestra on March 13 and 15.

Andy Bade interviewed George Hanson in the KUAT-FM studio.
