100 degree temperatures officially arrive

Tucson set a record on Friday.

Heat 100 degree day Tucson officially reached 100 degrees on April 11, 2025, setting a record for the earliest date with triple digit temperatures.

The temperature in Tucson officially reached 100 degrees at 1:09 p.m. on Friday. Hitting the century mark for the first time in 2025 set a record as the earliest temperatures have hit triple digits since official record-keeping began nearly 80 years ago.

The previous record was set on April 19, 1989. According to the National Weather Service, May 16 is the average day Tucson feels the first 100-degree day.

All but two of the earliest 100-degree days have occurred in the past 20 years.
