Open House Welcomes Words for All Ages

UA Poetry Center's Family Days invite youth and their families to explore poetry, language arts together

Once each month on a Saturday, the University of Arizona Poetry Center holds a special kind of open house, and invites kids and their families to explore and create together.

"Family Days" provides an opportunity for youth to try their hand at writing, music and playing games, or to engage in interactive bookmaking workshops, science experiments, storytelling, creative movement and many other poem-related activities.

The Poetry Center's goal is to inspire youth and their families to explore the world around them through language.

The next "Family Days" event will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, September 22nd. The Center is located in the Helen S. Schaefer Building, at 1508 East Helen Street in Tucson.
