Arizona Spotlight: Comedienne Carol Burnett

  • President Obama recently signed into law a new version of the Violence Against Women Act. The new version strengthens practices that prevent sexual violence against women, and includes added requirements for universities and community colleges regarding sexual assault. Fernanda Echavarri talks with representatives at the University of Arizona about how the UA health center will be affected by these changes.

  • Guitarist John Jorgenson has played music with a host of stars, from Johnny Cash to Elton John, but his new band let's him play the music that he loves the most - acoustic swing in the style of Django Reinhardt. Mark McLemore talks with John Jorgenson about why that is so, and about Jogenson's upcoming concert at The Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum.

  • And, Mark McLemore talks with one of the most successful comedians of all time, Carol Burnett. Carol is the subject of an American Masters documentary that airs on PBS 6 on Tuesday, April 9th at 8 pm.
