POLITICAL ART: Beyond art for art's sake, many artists believe their purpose is to provoke thought or discussion about certain topics, and express their opinions on current affairs. For other artists, art can be a tool to give voices to the underrepresented and create change. Political art can mean many things. Artists and art proponents discuss.

ART & SOCIAL ACTIVISM: Favianna Rodriguez is an artist based in Oakland, Calif., and one of the founding members of Cultures Strike, a magazine of national art movements surrounding immigration.

SCULPTURE & MULTIMEDIA ART: Tucson-based painter, sculpture and galley owner, Steven Derks, showcases and discusses his work. He says that, at this point in his career, he can do it all. Diving his time between painting and sculpting comes very easily to him.
