The Miraculous Mandarin

On Friday October 25 at 8PM and Sunday October 27 at 2PM, the Tucson Symphony Orchestra welcomes guest conductor Guillermo Figueroa. Besides leading the orchestra, he will be featured as the violin soloist in a work composed for him: ĺnsula Tropical by Ernesto Cordero. Also on the program are the Suite from The Miraculous Mandarin by Bela Bartok and the Symphony No. 2 in e, Op. 27 by Sergei Rachmaninoff. AZPM’s Ted Prichard speaks with Guillermo Figueroa about these performances.
