Newton has again been downgraded, and a Tucson meteorologist said the storm will not leave much more moisture in southeastern Arizona's most populous areas.
“[We are] not expecting a whole lot more this evening, especially in the city," said National Weather Service Meteorologist Gary Zell. "We might pick up another tenth or two-tenths of an inch. Some places in Graham and Greenlee counties to our northeast where there’s still numerous showers could pick up another inch to an inch and a half.”
Zell said the Tucson area will still have a chance of rain throughout the weekend as the remnants of the storm move through.
