U.S. Rep. Raúl Grijalva used his recess from Congress to visit four Arizona cities in four counties last week, and immigration was the most pressing topic on the agenda.
“The focus should be on those that are doing real damage – organized crime on both sides of the border, the smuggling of dope and people from Mexico this way, and guns that way, into Mexico,” he said.
He called for real screening and security at the border, as well as the flow of commerce and goods and services in border areas, which he said represent some of the poorest regions in the country.
He called the immigration situation "complicated" and "delicate" issue.
"A simplistic, 'More troops on the border, wall' is not going to solve it.
