Lars Furenlid, Co-Director of the Center for Gamma-ray Imaging and Professor in Optical Sciences, works with a team of colleagues and graduate students to develop technologies for molecular imaging, the mapping of biological function using tiny amounts of radioisotope-labeled tracer molecules. By combining the very latest advances in light sensors, X-and gamma-ray imaging, electronics, additive manufacturing, and computing power with the mathematics-based principles of image science, the CGRI team is building uniquely powerful imaging systems for use in biomedical research and, in companion grants with collaborators, for use in the clinic.
In this episode:
