THE DESERT SPEAKS Navigating a Desert Island

The over 900 islands in the Sea of Cortez are pieces of debris that display the violent history of Baja California. Thursday, November 13th 8pm KUAT6-HD

In this episode, travel along the coastline of Espiritu Santo Island on a personal kayak to visit the extremely vocal sea lions and navigate the ruin-like canals around the island that were created in the early 20th century for the pearl oyster trade. On the island, cross paths with an enormous pack of fiddler crabs on their way to the ocean and observe a completely new species of beetle.
