Like many other cities around the world, Tucson has instituted a program that's allowing restaurants to construct outdoor sitting areas on existing sidewalks or streets. The "parklets" or "streataries" according to the city, were part of an emergency program to help downtown-area businesses deal with the the COVID-19 pandemic. It has been so successful that city officials are looking into the possibility of expanding the program to other locations and making it permanent. Tony Paniagua has the story from two businesses on Congress Street.
