The deadline to register to vote in Arizona’s primary election is Monday, July 1.
All registered voters can cast a ballot for the primary election–different from the presidential preference, where only registered Democrats and Republicans could vote.
As voters prepare for this election season, here are some answers to frequently asked questions about Arizona’s primary election.

A: July 30, 2024
Q: What are the deadlines for the primary election?
A: July 1st is the voter registration deadline. Early voting begins July 3rd. The last day to request a ballot by mail is July 19th. All mail-in ballots must be postmarked by July 23rd. Arizonans can vote early in person until July 26th.
Q: How do I register to vote?
A: Arizonans can register through the website ServiceArizona.com or the Arizona Secretary of State’s Office online, in person, or by mail. Local county recorder offices can also help with registration.

Q: Can anyone participate in Arizona’s primary election?
A: Voters in this primary election must be citizens of the United States, residents of Arizona, residents of the county they reside in, and 18 years old by the day of the general election. If you have been convicted of a felony and have not had your civil rights restored, then you are ineligible to register to vote.
Q: Which ballot goes to who?
A: You will receive a ballot that aligns with your political affiliation. For example, democrats will receive a democratic party ballot. Libertarians will receive a libertarian party ballot. Independent voters must choose between a democratic, republican, or local non-partisan ballot.
However, if you are affiliated with the “No Labels” party, then there will not be any federal, state, or legislative candidates on the No Labels party ballot. This is because a preliminary injunction is barring NOL candidates from being on the Arizona Primary Election ballot. If you are on the Active Early Voting List registered with the No Labels party, you will be sent a ballot with no candidates listed. Contact your prospective county recorder to see if there is a local non-partisan ballot available or change your political affiliation by the deadline.
Q: Where can I find a list of the candidates on the primary ballot?
A: Visit the Arizona Citizens Clean Elections Commision’s website for the list of candidates who have filed to run this election. Their website also contains crucial deadlines, guides, and videos if more information is needed. Voters will only be able to select a candidate in their party’s race.
