50 historical Arizona newspapers now available online through Library of Congress collection

Fifty historical newspapers published in Arizona have been digitized and are now available to the public for free.

Thanks to a grant funded by the National Endowment for the Humanities, publications from several Arizona cities are now publicly available online as part of the Library of Congress’ Chronicling America collection of historical newspapers.

The additions include several years of the Jerome Chronicle, Arizona Mining News and Sulphur Valley News, as well as Spanish-language publications including Las Dos Repúblicas, Arizona’s first known Spanish-language newspaper from 1877.
