Bicycle enthusiasts are encouraging more people to discover the benefits of "pedal power" by using bikes as a form of transportation.
In Tucson, The Living Streets Alliance and other organizations - even businesses and local governments - are working on Bike Fest Tucson, which will feature more than 50 events in the month of April.
"Bicycling saves you money, it's good for the environment, there's a lot of reasons to do it," said It's also incredibly fun and so Bike Fest month is a month-long celebration of all things related to the bicycle in fun and playful ways that get people out and encourage them to explore the city," said Kylie Walzak, a program manager at Living Streets Alliance.
One of the biggest events during this bicycle month is called Cyclovia, which closes off a long stretch of road for bicyclists, pedestrians, musicians and other residents.
The event will take place Sunday, April 6 from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m., and thousands of people are expected along the loop between the cities of Tucson and South Tucson.
