Arizona Voter Registration Drives Going into Home Stretch

The deadline to register for November general election is Oct. 10.

High School voter registration Spot 1 Ulises Galindo, 18, says he has questions to answer before Election Day. "Who are the top candidates that are going to be against each other so I know who to vote for and look them up and get more informed. And see which one would be best for me.”

Arizona election officials will mail early ballots in two weeks, so voting advocates are rushing to get people registered.

Teams are on the University of Arizona campus, at local farmers markets, and even in area high schools. One group is specifically targeting the Tohono O’odham Nation.

Elliott Bustamante graduated from high school in 2015. Now he is on his home reservation trying to convince people to register to voter.

“It’s a little bit of a harder thing to do out on the reservation because we are so isolated,” said Bustamante.

He said he hopes to register high school seniors and older adults.

The last day to register to vote in the general election is Oct. 10.
