Radio Special Features Speakers from UA Science Lecture Series

Listen to a conversation with speakers from the University Of Arizona College Of Science Lecture Series, “Life in the Universe.” Friday at 1 p.m. on NPR 89.1

Life in the Universe, the 2015 University of Arizona College of Science Lecture Series explored our Universe at molecular, biological, planetary and cosmic scales to ask "What is life?" and how do we recognize it? What environments produce life and which attributes make something alive? How does life change? Is there life in our Solar System, or on one of countless exoplanets? Or are we alone?

Joaquin Ruiz, Dean of the University of Arizona College of Science, will moderate a one-hour conversation on NPR 89.1 featuring the following speakers from the lecture series:

  • Guy Consolmagno, Planetary Scientist with the Vatican Observatory Research Group

  • Dante Lauretta, Professor of Planetary Sciences with the UA Lunar and Planetary Laboratory and Principal Investigator of the Osiris REx mission

  • Brian Enquist, Professor of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology

  • Anna Dornhaus, Associate Professor of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology

  • Timothy Swindle, Head of the Planetary Sciences Department and Director of the Lunar and Planetary Laboratory

  • Laird Close, Professor of Astronomy and the Steward Observatory

  • Chris Impey, University Distinguished Professor and Deputy Head, Astronomy.

The program will repeat, Sunday, March 22nd at 3 p.m. on NPR 89.1.
