- A conversation with Viviana Garcia Besné, a film historian and preservationist from Mexico City, about restoring a rare print of the 1961 action / science fiction movie Santo contra Cerebro del Mal ( or Santo vs. The Evil Brain. A newly restored print will be featured in the 2018 Tucson Cine Mexico Film Festival, an annual presentation by the UA Hanson Film Institute that brings noteworthy films from Mexico to Tucson audiences.
- And, film essayist Chris Dashiell takes a closer look at two of the most acclaimed selections featured in the Cine Mexico festival - the drama Todo lo Demás (or Everything Else) and the documentary Tempestad - both made by women directors at the top of their game.
