World Refugee Day was observed on Saturday, an annual event to remember the plight of refugees, and celebrate their successes. Visit a multicultural party for all ages at Catalina High School, and Mark listens to the stories of Tucsonans who came from Kenya, Turkey, and Afghanistan.
50 years ago, the Fair Housing Act passed Congress and was signed into law. The Southwest Fair Housing Council observed this anniversary with custom artwork representing the idea of “The Beloved Community,” from the perspective of the past, present and future. Nick O’Gara spoke with the artist, Alex Jimenez.
